FLARE is now Roundout. Same licence, same landings.

Made for people who care how they land.

Roundout measures what matters about a touchdown in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 (the descent rate, the flare, where on the runway you touched) and turns every landing into something you can learn from.

Why Roundout exists.

The sim tells you that you landed, not how. A touchdown that feels soft from the cockpit can be a 600 fpm thump in real terms, and the sim says nothing either way.

So we built a measurement of our own. On the approach and the landing, the sim reports the flight 50 times a second (descent rate, speeds, pitch, bank, G-force, position), and every reading is held to thresholds anchored to FAA and EASA rules and manufacturers' manuals, set for the kind of aircraft you flew. Roundout knows 498 of them.

The result reads like a debrief after a lesson: what went well, what didn't, and what to fly differently next time. Roundout was first released as FLARE; the app, your landings and your licence carry on under the new name.

Each aircraft by its own yardstick.

Each aircraft is held to its own numbers. A 737 should touch down 240 to 600 m past the threshold; a Cessna 152, 50 to 200 m.

What we hold to.

No subscription and no upgrade tiers. One purchase includes every update for as long as we support Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024.
Honest grades
If the touchdown was rough, Roundout says so, and says why. A bad landing comes with specific feedback you can act on.
Out of the sim's way
A Windows app of its own: no panels inside the sim and nothing in its Community folder. The score card is a window of its own, shown over the sim at touchdown, in the shape you choose, or not at all. Roundout reads the flight through Microsoft's own SimConnect.
Your data
Your landings are saved on your PC first. They sync to your private account so the website side works, and one switch turns that off. We never sell your data, and the site has no advertising: our own visit count runs only if you accept it in the cookie settings.
For the long run
Every update to the app is included for as long as we support Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024: new aircraft, sim updates and features pilots ask for.

Who makes it.
