Roundout is the new name of FLARE: your licence, landings and account carry over unchanged.
What you need to run it.
If Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 runs on your PC, Roundout will too.
- Windows
- Windows 10 22H2 (build 19045 or later) or Windows 11, 64-bit.
- Flight Simulator
- Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, any edition (Standard, Deluxe, Premium Deluxe or Aviator), from Steam, the Microsoft Store or the Xbox app on PC.
- Nothing else
- Roundout installs everything it needs, with nothing else to download. It talks to the sim through SimConnect, which comes with Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024.
- Disk space
- About 300 MB for the app and your logbook.
- Memory
- Light enough to run comfortably beside the sim.
- Screen
- The window opens at 1280 × 800 and shrinks to 900 × 600, so it sits well on a second monitor. Make it larger and each page uses the room.
- Internet
- For each PC's one-time activation, its licence checks, landing sync (on by default, yours to switch off), weather reports and updates. After activation the app keeps working offline for up to 14 days; reconnect within that time to refresh.
- Permissions
- Installing needs administrator rights, because Roundout goes into Program Files and can start with the sim. Running it doesn't. Nothing goes into the sim's Community folder.
How your licence works.
The rest is in the terms and the refund policy.
- What if my key leaks?
- Replace it from your account, up to twice a calendar month. The old key stops working, and each PC is activated again with the new one.
- Can I give my licence to someone else?
- Ask for a transfer from the licence's page in your account. We review each request and, if approved, retire the old key and send the new owner a key of their own.
- Does it work offline?
- Yes, after each PC's one-time activation. The app records and grades landings without a connection and keeps working for up to 14 days between licence checks; landings sync when you are back online. Past that, new landings wait on your PC, and once you're online again the app may ask for your key.
