- Roundout Company
- Legal form
- Limited liability company
- Commercial Registration (unified number)
- 7055349612
- support@roundout.io
These details are also on our Contact page. You accept these terms, together with the Privacy Policy and the Refund Policy, when you create an account, buy a licence, or install or use the app. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.
Roundout was first released as FLARE. If you had an account or a licence before these terms were published, they apply to you 30 days after we email you about them; until then, the terms you accepted before still apply.
3 Who can use Roundout
- You must be at least 18 years old, the age of majority under the Civil Transactions Law, to create an account or buy a licence.
- Someone younger may use the app only with a parent or legal guardian, who creates the account, buys the licence, accepts these terms on their behalf and is responsible for their use of the Service.
- If you use the Service for an organization, you confirm that you are authorized to act for it, and the organization is bound by these terms.
4 The Service
Roundout records and scores your landings in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. It is made up of a desktop app for Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit) that reads the simulator through Microsoft's SimConnect interface and runs in its own window, installing nothing inside the simulator (if you choose, it adds itself to the simulator's start-up list, and you can turn that off in its Settings); a customer portal on the website for your licence, PCs, landing history, statistics, downloads and support; and the sync service that keeps your landings in step between the app and your account.
Roundout is an independent product. It is not made, endorsed or sponsored by Microsoft, Asobo Studio or any maker of the aircraft or airports it names.
5 Your account
- Give accurate details and keep them up to date, so we can reach you about your licence and your account.
- Keep your password, passkeys and two-step codes to yourself; we recommend turning on two-step sign-in. You are responsible for what happens in your account.
- Tell us at once at support@roundout.io if you think someone else has used your account.
- An account is for one person. Don't create accounts to get around a limit or a suspension.
6 Buying a licence
- Licences bought on the website are sold to you by Paddle, our merchant of record. Paddle takes the payment, works out and pays the sales taxes due where you live, and sends you a receipt. Paddle's Buyer Terms apply to the payment and its privacy policy to the data you give at checkout. We never see your card details.
- Prices are shown in US dollars. The price includes tax or VAT in most countries; in a few it's added, and the checkout shows it before you pay. A later change of price never affects a licence already bought.
- Your licence is issued to your account as soon as Paddle confirms the payment, and its key is shown in the portal and sent to you by email.
- If you bought a key from a reseller, the reseller's terms govern that purchase, and these terms govern your use of the app once you claim the key in your account.
- Promotional or gift licences may come with their own conditions, which we show before you claim them.
7 Your licence
- Once you have paid, we give you a personal, worldwide, non-exclusive licence to install and use the app, with no time limit, on as many PCs at a time as your licence allows: two for a standard licence.
- The licence is for your own use, or for use within a small organization you control. It is not a sale of the app or of any copy of it.
- It includes the updates we release for the app, at no extra charge, for as long as we support Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. Optional services we may offer for a separate fee, such as a subscription, are not part of the licence and come with their own terms.
- Each PC is activated once online. After that, the app checks its licence when it starts and every six hours while it runs, and keeps working offline for up to 14 days between checks. After 14 days without a check, new landings wait on the PC and don't sync, and once you are back online the app may ask for your key again.
8 Licence keys, PCs and transfers
- Your key belongs to your account. You can see the PCs it is activated on in the portal, and deactivate one there or in the app to free its place for another, unless our team has paused that PC.
- You can replace your key with a new one from the portal, up to twice a calendar month, unless a PC on the licence is paused. The old key stops working and every PC needs activating again with the new one.
- Our team can pause the app on a PC while we look into a problem with its licence. A paused PC keeps its place on the licence and keeps its landings, which don't sync until we start it again. Until then it can't be deactivated or freed, from the portal or the app. Write to support@roundout.io and we will help.
- To give your licence to someone else, for example as a gift or with a PC you sell, send a transfer request from the licence's page in the portal, unless a PC on the licence is paused. If we approve it, the licence moves to the other person's account with a new key, and the old key stops working on every PC.
- Apart from an approved transfer, you may not share, sell, lend, publish or otherwise pass on your key.
- To stop shared keys, a licence can be activated on a limited number of new PCs a day and over its life. If you reach the limit for a good reason, write to us and we will help.
9 Fair use
You may use the Service only for lawful purposes. In particular, you must not:
- copy, change, decompile, disassemble or reverse engineer the app, except where a law allows it despite this restriction;
- get around the activation, the device limit or the licence checks, or help anyone else to;
- rent, sell, sublicense or distribute the app, or use it to build a competing product;
- remove or change any notice of ownership in the app or on the website;
- upload or send anything unlawful, offensive, infringing or harmful, including malware, or false landings meant to mislead other pilots or the leaderboards;
- try to get into accounts, systems or data that aren't yours, scan or test the Service for vulnerabilities without our written permission, overload it, or harvest its content automatically beyond what search engines do under our instructions to them; or
- use the Service in breach of the law or in a way that harms us or others.
Some of these acts are offences under the Anti-Cyber Crime Law. If you think you have found a security weakness, report it to support@roundout.io and give us a reasonable time to fix it before telling anyone else.
10 Refunds
You can get a full refund for any reason within 14 days of buying, as the Refund Policy explains. Your licence stops working when the refund starts, not when the money arrives. Where the consumer law that protects you gives you more, such as a longer time to cancel, that law applies.
11 Updates, changes and availability
We improve the app and the website over time. Some updates are needed for the app to keep working with the simulator or with our services. We may change or remove a feature; if a change takes away something important that you paid for, we tell you in good time.
We work to keep the online services running, but we can't promise they will never be interrupted. The app records and scores landings on your PC even when it can't reach us, and syncs them later.
12 Your landings and what you share
Your landings, your profile and what you send us stay yours. You give us a worldwide, royalty-free permission to store, copy and process them only as needed to run the Service for you, and to show what you choose to make public. We don't use your landings or your messages for advertising or to train AI models.
Nothing you sync is public unless you choose to share it:
- Public profile. Off until you turn it on in the portal. It then shows your handle or Pilot ID, your profile picture, the month you joined, your landing statistics, achievements and landings; your first name only if you also choose to show it. Turning it off takes the page down at once.
- Leaderboards. You appear only if you turn on the leaderboard option as well as the public profile, and have a public handle. The boards are rebuilt once a day.
- Shared landings. A landing you share gets a page anyone with its link can open, until you stop sharing it.
- Debriefs. If you accept another pilot's invitation to a debrief, they can read your landings and leave notes on them until either of you ends it, and you both see each other's email address. The conversation and notes stay on record afterwards, until either account is deleted.
Be fair to other pilots: what you show must be your own landings, and what you write in a debrief must be lawful and respectful.
13 Intellectual property
- The app, the website and their content, including the software, designs, scoring, text and the Roundout name and logo, are owned by or licensed to Roundout Company and protected by the Copyright Law, the Trademark Law of the GCC States and other laws and international agreements. These terms give you no right in them beyond your licence.
- The app includes open-source components, which stay under their own licences. Their notices and licences are in the app's installation folder, and you can write to support@roundout.io for the list.
- Microsoft Flight Simulator is a trademark of Microsoft. The names of aircraft, airlines, airports and other products belong to their owners, and we use them only to describe what you fly.
14 Microsoft Flight Simulator and other services
You need your own copy of Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, which Microsoft provides under its own terms. We don't control the simulator. If Microsoft changes it or the SimConnect interface the app reads, parts of Roundout may stop working until we update the app, and we will work to restore them.
If you sign in with an account from another company, such as Google or Microsoft, that company's own terms apply to that account.
15 Simulation only, not for real-world flying
Roundout is a flight simulation tool, for entertainment and practice in a simulator. Its data, scores, grades and coaching come from simulated flights. They are not checked against any real aircraft's procedures, and they must never be used for real-world flight planning, flying, training, currency or certification. Roundout is not approved by any aviation authority.
16 Disclaimer
As far as the law allows, the Service is provided as it is and as available, without any promise beyond what these terms state, including about its fitness for a particular purpose, its accuracy, or its working with every setup of the simulator or of Windows. Nothing in these terms takes away a right that the consumer law that protects you gives you and that can't be excluded by agreement.
17 Limitation of liability
- As far as the laws of the Kingdom allow, including the Civil Transactions Law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damage, or for loss of profit, data or opportunity, arising from the Service or from being unable to use it.
- Our total liability to you under these terms is limited to the amount you paid for your licence, or 100 US dollars if that is more.
- Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability that the law does not allow to be limited, including liability for fraud, gross negligence, death or personal injury, or for a harmful act, from which no agreement can exempt anyone under the Civil Transactions Law.
18 Your responsibility
You are responsible for any damage your breach of these terms or of the law causes us or others, including the reasonable cost of dealing with it, in accordance with the law.
19 Suspension and ending
- You can stop using the Service at any time: uninstall the app and, if you wish, delete your account from the portal.
- We may suspend your account, pause a PC, revoke your licence or refuse a sale if you seriously breach these terms (for example by sharing your key or attacking the Service), if a payment is reversed or charged back without good reason, or if the law requires it. Where we reasonably can, we tell you first and give you a chance to put things right.
- If your licence ends because of a serious breach, you must stop using the app and uninstall it.
- The parts of these terms that by their nature last beyond the end, such as intellectual property, liability, law and disputes, keep applying.
20 Force majeure
We are not responsible for a failure or delay caused by events beyond our reasonable control, such as outages of networks or of providers' services, cyberattacks, natural disasters and decisions of public authorities.
21 Electronic communications and notices
You agree that we may deal with each other electronically, and that electronic records and messages have the same effect as paper ones under the Electronic Transactions Law and the Law of Evidence.
We send notices to the email address on your account; send yours to support@roundout.io.
22 Complaints
To make a complaint, email support@roundout.io with "Complaint" in the subject line, saying what it is about and what you are asking for. We confirm receipt within two working days and reply with our answer within 15 working days.
You may also take a complaint to the authority that deals with its subject, such as the Ministry of Commerce in Saudi Arabia, the consumer authority where you live, or, for personal data, the authorities named in our Privacy Policy.
23 Changes to these terms
We may change these terms. We publish the new version on this page with its date. If a change is material, we email you at least 30 days before it takes effect; it never applies to the past. If you don't accept a change, you can stop using the Service, and ask for a refund if the Refund Policy allows it.
24 Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. We aim to settle any disagreement amicably; if it isn't settled within 30 days of telling us about it in writing, the competent courts of Riyadh decide it.
If you buy as a consumer and live outside Saudi Arabia, this doesn't take away the protection of the mandatory rules of the consumer law of your country, or your right to bring a claim in your country's courts where that law gives it.
25 General provisions
- These terms, the Privacy Policy, the Refund Policy and your order confirmation are the whole agreement between you and us about the Service.
- If a court finds part of these terms invalid, the rest stays in force.
- If we don't enforce a right at once, we haven't given it up.
- You may not pass your rights under these terms to someone else, except through an approved licence transfer. We may pass ours to a successor that takes over the Service, and your rights stay the same.
- Headings are for convenience only.
